Nélia Pinto Aires

TECHNICAL STAFF MEMBER – FORESTRY DEPARTMENT

Undergraduate degree in Forest Engineering and Natural Resources (Natural Resource Management) from the Instituto Superior de Agronomia in 2003.

Since January 2016, she is a technical staff member of the Forestry Department in AGRO.GES, where she collaborates in the elaboration of forest management plans, strategic planning and rustic evaluations, and in the preparation of applications for EU supports.

Between 2011 and 2015 she was a technical coordinator in the UNAC – Union of the Mediterranean Forest, and in FILCORK – Interprofessional Association of the Cork Range, where she developed follow-up and coordination actions related to the various forest ranks.

Since 2003, she held several positions in various entities: she began her professional activity in the Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais; in 2004, she developed her research work at CEF – Centro de Estudos Florestais, at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, as a scientific research fellow; in 2005, she joined the technical team of Logística Florestal S.A., where she remained for 6 years, and developed multiple studies and projects of planning and forest management; in the years of 2010 and 2011, she provided services as a trainer in forestry in professional agricultural education (Fernando Barros Leal Professional Agricultural School, in Runa, and D. Dinis Agricultural Professional School in Paiã).

She also has demonstrated experience in other activities, such as the elaboration of cartography using Geographic Information Systems, the monitoring of projects and the preparation of payment requests, the organization of seminars, the preparation of technical manuals related to the forest theme, among others.
